22 CWU JAZZ COMBO I with MATT WENMAN Come check out this fabulous sextet from Central Washington University featuring their top grad student jazz performers! Also with one of our favorite local music educators on alto saxophone, Matt Wenman. Sure to be a great evening of tunes and jazz arrangements.

2 HB RADKE & CRAIG HOYER HB is a well-known crooner and funny guy, in addition to being a trumpet-player and songwriter. His popular recordings date back to his "Jet City Swingers: Live" CD which has been a best seller, and his Vegas-style shows have been featured around the world! He’s joined this night by pianist and philosopher Craig Hoyer. A free-spirited interpreter of melodies, his song "Wild Hippopotamus" is a Boxley's favorite. http://www.radke.com
9 LEAH STILLWELL & ED WEBER Vocalist Stillwell has a conversationally warm sound & welcoming approach to her naturally gifted voice. 16 JIMMIE HERROD & RANDY HALBERSTADT Herrod is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter with the tone of Little Jimmy Scott! He’s performed with many Seattle-area groups as well as in musical productions at the 5th Avenue Theatre! Halberstadt is a wonderful, harmonic pianist and a major figure on the Pacific Northwest jazz scene! 10 JAY THOMAS BOOGALOO QUARTET Thomas is an amazing multi-instrumentalist: trumpet, flugelhorn, tenor & alto saxophones - a true master characterized by warmth, lyricism & rhythmic authority! The Boogaloo style originated in the 60s when Latin rhythms were combined with elements of soul, funk, R&B and jazz. 11 JANETTE WEST BAND Filled with fun Latin, R&B & funky grooves, vocalist West takes it from high-texture to stripped-down beauty and reflection! JazzTimes Magazine writes "West is a first rate swinger, comparable in style and gusto to Ernestine Anderson, though the warmth of her ballads is more reminiscent of Natalie Cole."
