A great vocal clinic featuring students from the vocal jazz program at Mount Si High School! Led by Courtney Cutchins, voice and Danny Kolke, piano.
3 CHRISTIAN HENRIKSEN PROJECT - 7PM
Henriksen is a senior at Mount Si High School and the principal bassist for their Jazz Band I. He’d been seen here regularly with what was called the “CCK Workshop,” but now has his own project night! Featuring an outstanding group of students!
10 WENMAN / TAYLOR QUARTET - 7PM
Featuring two, phenomenal local educators and musicians! Matt Wenman is the Director of Bands at Mount Si High School, recently leading Jazz I to a coveted finalist spot in NYC’s Essentially Ellington Competition. He’s also an accomplished alto sax player and graduate of CWU! Pianist Dan Taylor, also a CWU grad, is the Band & 8th Grade Choir Director at Twin Falls Middle School. Come on down!

24 CHK WORKSHOP - 7PM
Crandell, Henriksen and Kolke! A talented trio featuring MSHS freshman Jonathan Henriksen on bass and sophomore Will Crandell on drums, as well as professional swingin’ pianist Danny Kolke. Performing jazz standards and great tunes!

Featuring the talented jazz band 2 from Mount Si High School! Directed by Danny Kolke.

Come perform at Boxley's vocal jam session - usually every first Tuesday of each month, but this is a special date for March. Open to all aspiring jazz vocalists, high school through adult! Relaxed, supportive and fun environment - all-ages, so invite your family & friends! Come prepared with a favorite jazz standard or blues (or two) and support your fellow vocalists in the Greater Seattle area. 25 BOB BAUMANN & FRIENDS
A showcase of many wonderful local jazz and blues instrumentalists and vocalists! Led by great bass player/jazz accordionist Baumann who has been performing for over 20 years! A long-time professional musician and teacher, he's also been featured here with one of our favorite local bands, AlpenFolk.

Local music students & rising stars take the stage for a jazz jam! Featuring students from the award-winning jazz bands at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, WA, Twin Falls Middle School in North Bend, WA and Chief Kanim Middle School in Fall City, WA. With Chris Clark on bass. Middle schoolers perform at 5PM, followed by high schoolers at 7PM!
5 CBC JAZZ VOCALISTS
Featuring performances by fabulous, student jazz vocalists! These singers are from Columbia Basin College’s nationally-recognized jazz choir, FreeForm, directed by Dave Cazier. Solo tunes and traditional jazz standards!

6 RANDY HALBERSTADT & ALEXEY NIKOLAEV
A major figure on the Pacific Northwest jazz scene: multi-dimensional pianist and tremendous jazz educator! With a penchant for forward-thinking harmonies and classical sounds, Halberstadt knows a good blues line too. He’s performed with Herb Ellis, Buddy de Franco, Bobby Shew, Joe LaBarbera and many others. Check out his early Pony Boy recordings "Inner Voice" and his lyrical "Clockwork". Joined by tenor saxophonist Nikolaev “...employing a huge note range and complete control of his instrument, [his] solos are show-stoppers; they never fail to get a rise out of the audience."
13 REUEL LUBAG & MICHAEL GLYNN
One of our favorite pianists, accompanists and educators here at Boxley’s, look for snappy arrangements in the style of piano heroes like Oscar Peterson & Monty Alexander. Friendly and charismatic, Reuel is committed to expressing such ideals in his music as honesty, integrity and beauty. Joined by Seattle bassist Michael Glynn!
20 CRAIG HOYER DUO
A fixture on the Northwest jazz scene, pianist/vocalist/philosopher Hoyer has a quick wit and sharp style! Known for his flowing technique and melodic lines, he's also a free-spirited interpreter of melodies and lyrics. His song "Wild Hippopotamus" is a favorite!
27 CURT BERG TEN-TET - Special Event!
Master composer, trombonist and arranger! Berg attended Drake University and University of Southern California, eventually performing with the NORAD Band, Woody Herman, Harry James, Don Ellis, and Louis Bellson. He has written libraries for big band, little big band, trombone band, jazz sextet, and jazz quintet. Aside from performing and composing, Curt has long been active in the music preparation field for LA's film, TV and recording studios. This superb large ensemble is here at Boxley’s for one night only!

7 HAM CARSON QUARTET
Ham and crew play the fun-loving jazz and swing that sets the toes a-tapping! Seattle Times calls Ham "quite simply, the best swing clarinetist in town...one of Seattle's jazz treasures!" With a following of listeners, dancers and jazz aficionados, this regularly appearing group has been given a new chance for exposure! Come out and experience the fun!
14 DAN O’BRIEN TRIO
O’Brien has been playing bass professionally for over 50 years in musical situations all over the world! Many of his tunes feature a Brazilian twist and influence. Check out his 2005 Pony Boy release “Inside Out,” an exploration of stretching notes and harmonies into “outside” jazz.
21 GREG WILLIAMSON QUARTET
Drummer Williamson is Mr. Pony Boy Records himself, leading an awesome jazz quartet and "[driving] with a big band energy!" He's appeared on over 30 albums and toured with the big bands of Woody Herman, Glenn Miller and Harry James. Check out his other groups: The Pony Boy All-Star Big Band and the Young Lizards, as well as his latest album “Scenes and Voyages”!
28 CHRIS SYMER TRIO
Symer is a wonderful, versatile bassist who has played extensively in the Seattle & LA jazz scenes! Exceptionally creative and featuring a full, consistent sound.

1 KATIE DAVI / CHRIS MORTON QUARTET
Katie is a classically trained vocalist who has spent more than 8 years studying and performing in both the classical and jazz idiom; both as a solo artist and in ensembles. Because of her eclectic musical background, Katie draws her inspiration and vocal approach from a wide range of jazz, pop and classical, artists and techniques. With Seattle pianist Chris Morton! Also joined by Michael Marcus, bass & Greg Williamson, drums.
8 PAUL GREEN QUINTET
Green is a great blues vocalist and harmonica player! He's performed with Bruce Springsteen, Clarence Clemons and many others, throughout New Jersey, California, Chicago and beyond. Inducted into the Washington Blues Society Hall of Fame in 2008, he's one of the best!
15 BERNIE JACOBS QUARTET
Bernie Jacobs has been a professional musician for over 40 years and effortlessly transitions between instrument and vocals through rhythm and blues, jazz and pop landscapes! Called a “triple threat," Jacobs sings and plays flute and as well as soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone. He currently performs around Seattle with his own group BJQ as well as with ensembles. He swings like Joe Williams and croons like Lou Rawls; always a crowd-pleaser as he puts on a great show! Performing tunes from his latest album “One by One”.
22 PONY BOY ROUND-UP
A collection of artists from the Pony Boy label come together for a fine and fun evening of jazz! Featuring some stalwarts and some new, fresh talent. Jam session with a focus. Big fun is sure to ensue.
29 CAROLYN GRAYE & FRIENDS
Vocalist/pianist Graye's warm and engaging style will draw you into the melody & harmony of every song she sings! Robert Creeley, award winning poet laureate says of her CD "Poems of Denise Levertov": "Graye brings a happy sophistication to her interpretation of these enduring poems. She hears them with great clarity and makes her own defining response."
