7, 21, 28  MSHS VOCAL JAZZ CLINIC - 5pm
A great vocal clinic featuring students from the vocal jazz program at Mount Si High School! Led by Courtney Cutchins, voice and Danny Kolke, piano.

7   RYAN DONNELLY JAZZ GROUP
Fantastic bassist and MSHS graduate, Donnelly is now the Principal Bassist for Central Washington University! Joined by Skyler Floe, trumpet; Taylor Griffin, piano and Austin Hass, drums.

14  MSHS VOCAL JAZZ
Featuring students from the delightful vocal jazz program at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie! Directed by Haley Isaacs.

21  DAN TAYLOR
A superb pianist whose playing style reflects the mixture of both jazz and classical art forms! He's the Director of Bands & 8th Grade Choir at Twin Falls Middle School and a graduate of Central Washington University.

28  LLOYD CHISHOLM
Great local trumpet player who has performed at concerts and festivals all over the world! He developed his Hard-Bop style while working with legends Nat Adderley, Stanley Turrentine, Kenny Drew Jr., Curtis Fuller and Idress Sulieman, among others, for over 30 years in various groups. Joined by John Hansen, piano; Chris Clark, bass & Ray Price, drums.

1   VOX AT THE BOX: JAZZ VOCAL JAM HOSTED BY COURTNEY CUTCHINS
Come perform at Boxley's vocal jam session every first Tuesday of each month! Open to all aspiring jazz vocalists, high school through adult. Relaxed, supportive and fun environment - all-ages, so invite your family & friends! Come prepared with charts for a favorite jazz standard or blues and support your fellow vocalists in the Greater Seattle area. Hosted by vocalist Courtney Cutchins and joined by Eric Verlinde, piano; Nate Parker, bass & Anthony Channita, drums.

22  MACH ONE JAZZ ORCHESTRA
Seattle’s most exciting 17-piece big band, swingin’ at the speed of sound! With repertoire spanning styles from the Golden Age to the contemporary jazz artists of today, MachOne Jazz Orchestra delivers high energy, artistic precision and musical dynamism! Since its beginning in 1998, the band has become a 'regular' on the Seattle area music scene. Featuring classics of the 30's and 40's, well-known dance numbers, as well as the latest from Michael Bublé, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Brian Setzer.

29  BOB BAUMANN & FRIENDS
A showcase of many wonderful local jazz and blues instrumentalists and vocalists! Led by great bass player/jazz accordionist Baumann who has been performing for over 20 years! A long-time professional musician and teacher, he's also been featured here with one of our favorite local bands, AlpenFolk. Also with Harold Drews, guitar; Danny Kolke, piano and Ed Coke, drums.


• WEDNESDAYS - JAZZ JAM •

2, 9, 16, 23, 30  FUTURE JAZZ HEADS & JAZZ HEADS - Middle School at 5pm, High School at 7pm
Local music students & rising stars take the stage for a jazz jam! Featuring students from the award-winning jazz bands at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, WA, Twin Falls Middle School in North Bend, WA and Chief Kanim Middle School in Fall City, WA. With Chris Clark on bass. Middle schoolers perform at 5pm, followed by high schoolers at 7pm!

3   FRANK KOHL TRIO
Excellent Seattle jazz guitarist greatly influenced by Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith! He grew up in the New York jazz scene and graduated with a degree from Berklee. Forty years later, now focusing on recording and composing, Kohl will be performing great tunes this night. Joined by Jeff Johnson, bass & Byron Vannoy, drums.

10  THOMAS MARRIOTT DUO - Special Guest!
Trumpeter Thomas Marriott is one of the most exciting musicians to emerge on the national jazz scene in more than a decade. The seven-time Golden Ear award winner is a skilled instrumentalist, composer and producer, always seeking to expand the boundaries of jazz music in all its forms.

After winning the prestigious Carmine Caruso Jazz Trumpet Competition in 1999, Marriott headed east from Seattle to New York where he gained initial acclaim through his work with Maynard Ferguson's Big Bop Nouveau band. Marriott completed 3 world tours as the jazz soloist with Ferguson, then continued to work in New York and on the road with the likes of Rosemary Clooney, Joe Locke, The Tito Puente Orchestra, Brian Lynch, The Chico O'Farrill Orchestra, Michael Feinstein, Eric Reed, Les Brown and the Band of Renown, Kenny Kirkland, Charlie Hunter, Deltron 3030, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Ritchie "Alto Madness" Cole, Carl Allan, George Colligan, Orrin Evans and scores of others.

17  GREG WILLIAMSON QUARTET
Drummer Williamson is Mr. Pony Boy Records himself, leading an awesome jazz quartet and "[driving] with a big band energy!" He's appeared on over 30 albums and toured with the big bands of Woody Herman, Glenn Miller and Harry James. Check out his other groups: The Pony Boy All-Star Big Band and the Young Lizards, as well as his latest album “Scenes and Voyages”!

24  NATE PARKER DUO
Parker is a great Seattle bassist, solid timekeeper and melodic soloist. He's dedicated himself to the old-school, no amp approach and has developed a big sound!

31  PETE GALLIO DUO
Known for his intensity and flexibility, Pete plays tenor, baritone, alto and soprano saxophones, as well as flute and clarinet. He's an exceptional musician who has toured around the world with some of the industry's top artists including Maynard Ferguson, Tommy Dorsey, KC and the Sunshine Band and many others! He came from solid musical foundations attending the University of Miami and University of North Texas Music Programs. Pete teaches saxophone and plays with a number of Seattle, Dallas and West Coast bands, touring frequently.

11  TRISH, HANS & PHIL
Three voices, tight harmonies, and great jazz interpretations of The American Songbook! Trish, Hans and Phil are one of the most innovative and entertaining groups in the Northwest today. In addition to their unique and superb musicianship, they convey a joyous and exhilarating sense of showmanship. They bring their novel approach to the classics, from Cole Porter and the Gershwins to Lennon and McCartney. With the story-line lyrics of Hans, the sultry tones of Trish, and Phil's dry wit, this exciting group combines their soaring, swinging vocals for a sound that is truly their own.

18  MICHAEL BARNETT TRIO
Celebrated for his warm tone and soaring lyricism, Seattle bassist Barnett has been performing professionally for over 50 years, gaining considerable experience in the Kansas City and Chicago jazz scenes! He's performed with numerous jazz artists such as Billy Wallace, Carmen McRae, Mel Torme, Anita O'Day and Pearl Bailey. He has also toured for over 18 years as bassist for pianist/composer/conductor Peter Nero in concert with major symphonies in North America and Europe.

25  CHRIS CLARK, BOB HAMMER & RAY PRICE
Local jazz legends live among us! Pianist Hammer spent most of his career as an arranger, penning classics for Woody Herman and Charles Mingus. He also worked with other jazz greats such as Gene Krupa, Johnny Hartman, Woody Herman, Elvin Jones & more! Bassist Clark played all through the Los Angeles hey-day, going back to his appearance with Les Brown's Band in "The Nutty Professor," starring Jerry Lewis. Ray Price recorded with Oscar Peterson and toured the nation. Need we say more? Check them out!

5   JOSE “JUICY” GONZALES QUARTET
Firmly rooted in jazz, fed with a steady diet of blues, and dedicated to the art of the song, Jose “Juicy” Gonzales Trio offers a fresh take on standards - joyfully flirting with pop, funk and R&B. Whether leading his piano trio, or fronting as a vocalist, his performances are always special. Jose 'Juicy' Gonzales appears regularly throughout the Northwest!

12  BERNIE JACOBS QUARTET
Jacobs has been a professional musician for over 40 years! He effortlessly transitions between instrument and vocals through rhythm and blues, jazz and pop landscapes. Called a "triple threat," Jacobs sings and plays flute and as well as soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone. He currently performs around Seattle with his own group BJQ, as well as with ensembles. He swings like Joe Williams and croons like Lou Rawls; always a crowd-pleaser as he puts on a great show! Performing tunes from his latest album "One by One".

19  NORTH BEND BLOCK PARTY - Special Event from Noon-11ish!

26  MILO PETERSEN & STEVE GRIGGS 4: PANAMA HOTEL MUSIC
Renowned Seattle guitarist and saxophonist perform tunes from “Panama Hotel Jazz”, a suite inspired by and created for this building's rich history. The 103 year old Panama Hotel in Seattle's International District carries the memories of hope, hatred, and humility experienced by Japanese Americans before, during, and after WWII.

Boxley's own piano master takes the reins on Sunday Nights! 27  RANDY HALBERSTADT TRIO
A major figure on the Pacific Northwest jazz scene: multi-dimensional pianist and tremendous jazz educator! With a penchant for forward-thinking harmonies and classical sounds, Halberstadt knows a good blues line too. He's performed with Herb Ellis, Buddy de Franco, Bobby Shew, Joe LaBarbera and many others. Check out his early Pony Boy recordings "Inner Voice" and his lyrical "Clockwork".
